Coordinate Health Sector Workforce Programs

Ohio’s 540,000 health care practitioners directly influence the cost and quality of health care through their diagnoses, orders, prescriptions, and treatments. In February 2012, Governor Kasich created the Office of Workforce Transformation to coordinate and align workforce policies, programs and resources statewide. Working together, the Offices of Workforce Transformation and Health Transformation are coordinating 16 state agencies to identify health sector workforce needs, align existing workforce programs, reform higher education training programs, and change payments for health services to support workforce priorities.
