Current Ohio Medicaid eligibility levels were set in October 2013 when the federal government approved Ohio’s request to expand Medicaid eligibility to more low-income, uninsured Ohioans. The existing authority does not expire and covers adults living at up to 138 percent of poverty (children and pregnant women are covered up to 200 percent of poverty). Primarily as a result of the expansion, Ohio's uninsured rate was reduced to the lowest level on record.
