Across the United States, there is growing consensus that changing the way we pay for health care is a critical factor in decreasing costs and improving health outcomes. Ohio leads the nation in efforts to improve the health of its citizens by resetting the basic rules of health care competition to reward better care, not just more care. OHT and its state agency partners are working with private sector health plans and providers to pay for what works to improve and maintain health and shift from volume-based fee-for-service payments to value-based payments.
